A student who obtains a general weighted average (GWA) of at least 80% and no grade lower than 75% in all subjects in the fourth quarter of the school year immediately preceding the entrance examination and meets the qualifying score in each subtest as specified in the examination announcement may be admitted to the PSHS. The first three subtests are multiple-choice while the Language Proficiency subtests are essay-type. The PSHS NCEE is a three-hour examination composed of four subtests: Science, Mathematics-Science, Reading Comprehension, and Language Proficiency (English and Filipino). The examination is given every first Saturday of September in at least 72 testing centers all over the Philippines. To qualify for admission to the PSHS, a student must take and pass the Philippine Science High School Entrance Examination (PSHS NCEE). Its mission is to produce topnotch Filipino scientists, engineers, and researchers who will serve the country in the fields of science and technology.
